Ah, with this one we venture into the  early to mid 2000s era of vintage, and this is exactly where Italian manufacturers really shine.

A beautifully made, fitted knit with a high ribbed neck and shoulders in soft cream wool, contrasted with a unique semi-sheer striped panel through the body. The stripes are slightly irregular in deep burgundy and charcoal, giving the piece a graphic, almost hand-dyed quality.

It has all the interesting things we love about early-2000s design — transparency, contrast, clever layering — but with a level of quality that makes it feel considerably more considered than your average Y2K revival.

One of those pieces you could easily find in an unnamed Brick Lane boutique, displayed under very good lighting and accompanied by a rather less charming price tag.
